Service Pricing
To help you understand all of the costs associated with a funeral service and make an informed decision, we’ve broken them down in our general price list. We also have a variety of payment options to ease the financial burden of honoring your loved one so that you can give them the service they deserve. These prices are effective as of January 1, 2023 and are subject to change without notice. The goods and services shown are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Schott Funeral Homes reserves the right to ask for payment in full before any service is scheduled.
Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff

Our charge includes being available 24/7/365, funeral counseling, necessary arrangements, recording vital statistics, securing permits, filing and obtaining death certificates and other forms and claims, preparation of necessary notices, and coordination of service plans with parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select.
(This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and receiving remains.)
Removal
$700.00
Vehicle, equipment, supplies and personnel necessary to make the removal from the place of death.
Embalming
$850.00
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.
(This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and receiving remains.)

This charge includes dressing, cosmetizing and casketing. This may also apply when we receive casketed remains from another funeral home. Special needs may be re-applying cosmetic, re-positioning or treating problems that naturally occur with the remains. The minimum we do with no embalming is disinfect the body, wrap in a sheet and place in the casket (for earth burial) or alternative container (for cremation).

Cremation Services:
Cremation itself is the same as earth burial. It is the final disposition of the remains. The services vary from immediate cremation to a full service, i.e. embalming, visitation and viewing and final memorialization of the cremains.

These amounts are due at the conclusion of the arrangements.
